continue. the redskins are 2-3 on the season after losing their eighth straight home game. >> michael turner, big hole, heading for the goal line. he's in. touchdown. >> redskins fell to the undefeated falcons 24-17 at fedex field. the falcons scored the go ahead touchdown with less than three mips in t minutes in the game. the skins haven't won at home since last season, but that's not the team's biggest concern. quarterback robert griffin had to leave the game early pausebe of this hit. he suffered a mild hit. coach mike shanahan said robert griffin was so woozy after that he didn't even know what the score was. >> he didn't know what the score was. we knew he had a mild concussion, at least according to the doctors. feels a lot better now, but that was the situation why he didn't go back into the game. >> fellow rookie kirk cousins finished the game at quarterback. team doctors will reexamine griffin today. he has to clear the nfl's concussion protocol before he can play again. he did tweet last night he'll have to go through a few more tests, but he expects to be back on the field

the week very strong. michael and son weather cam live, see the clouds across the metro area. 82 is the high. temperatures are still very warm at 79 downtown. dew points in the mid 60s. pressure rising. the winds are pretty much dead calm. fall colors, had some e-mails about this. near peek when you go across the divide. once you go across savage mountain and tucker county, west virginia. some good color showing up around i-81 and some color in the suburbs. if you're going to plan a trip or have folks come in, relatives come in for skyline drive, you aught to wait two weeks. usually it's the 15th or 16th in october and looks that way this year. satellite picture, radar combined. moving from south to north. we can't quite shake this tropical air mass. in some ways isn't bad. the good news is, this front will slowly slide eastward and dispate. another front comes through tonight and that will usher in some cooler and dryer air. especially tomorrow night. in the meantime, we're going to keep the chance of a shower in. there are a couple sprinkles to the west of us. best chance of s

michael and son weather cam. we have clouds. we have a little bit of fog beginning to develop. that may be the biggest problem overnight. right now 71. a little bit of sprinkle activity downtown, nothing heavy. dew point 68. winds right now north, northeast at 6. and the pressure kind of low. humidity kind of high. here's the deal. here's the satellite picture, radar combined. now we'll zoom in a little bit. the area of low pressure hasn't moved much. in fact, it retrough graded to the northwest. the warm front is beginning to snake up to the north and to the west. it is kind of clipping southern maryland right now and also the delmarva. north of it in the 60s and 70s. this front will go through tomorrow and as it does so, we might see one more shower or thunderstorm tonight and then we'll pop in the warm sector big time tomorrow. close in view of lightning. see some showers. this is essentially just on the other side of that front, which is why we are seeing that area where the showers and thunderstorms are being created. prince william, back to mechanicsville, nothing crazy heavy, but

. this is michael and son weather cam. temperatures still pretty mild. 65 downtown. little bit of light shower activity. not bad. dew point's coming up, upper 50s now. winds turned a little bit but the winds will be nonexistent tonight. it will eventually turn more out of the southeast tomorrow. pressure steady out of the past hour. watching this storm system and really we talked about this earlier. by far and away the bull's-eye and heaviest action of rain will be into the ohio valley and on the west side of the appalachians. the reason why, middle tennessee will move into the ohio valley. that keeps us on the warm side of the storm. the storm circulate counterclockwise so that will give us more of a southerly flow as it moves into the ohio valley. because of that it's also going to keep most of the heavy rain to the west of us. not to say we can't see occasional hof thunderstorms but for the most part, heavy actions of rain on the other side of the appalachians. there are the showers that went through. nothing really heavy. nothing heavy downstream. for now anyway. we see some heavier activi

, holiday, not going to be great, either. let's take a look outside right now with the michael & son weather cam. 50 degrees, partly cloudy. but outside of town it is much cooler than that. the dew point right now in the 40s, and the winds are light out of the west-northwest, and there you go, you can see that temperature continues to drop. now hat just dropped to 49 degrees at reagan national. in our weather headlines we have the coldest night so far on tap as we head into the overnight hours, frost and freeze warnings have been posted, and a frost is possible in the shenandoah valley. a hard freeze is possible especially in garrett county where the temperatures already dipped to the 30s. you'll see in that a second. as we move into monday into the day, some afternoon and evening showers arriving. you'll see them in just a second. tuesday will be much better. the timing not very good there because that's when most of us head back to work and school. 45 degrees right now in gaithersburg, 51 in annapolis. ace just mentioned it dipped into the 40s in d.c. 43 in manassas. in oakland it's alread

in fredericksburg, and 37 from charlie this morning. here in washington good visibility. here's our michael and son weather camera. wisconsin avenue there, over in the distance toward virginia. 45 degrees, feeling like 42 with the northwest wind running about 6 miles per hour. the chill made it all the way down into texas and oklahoma, even atlanta this morning in the low 50s with 30s chicago and detroit. this first really cold air mass of the season did bring the end of a growing season in many areas in the central part of the country. with the clouds coming back, it has been sporadic as far as the frost this morning, we are watching rain, coming out of the tennessee and mississippi valley, moving toward the east-northeast, approaching areas in southwest virginia this morning and give it a few more hours, lunch time we could be talking some of these showers might be even knocking on our doorstep by then. with the clouds certainly moving in rather quickly. the clouds will thicken up, shower possible even west of town by lunch time and north and west of town, that is where we will have the better ch

improve the rest of the week. a live look outside. our michael and son weather cam. churches are truly low -- temperatures are still low 50s downtown. dew point in the mid-40s. the winds are still north/northeast at 10. there will be an easterly component to this wind through tomorrow. these low clouds will be hard to shake, especially south and east of town. latest radar, here's our rain. everything is green. and in most cases light green. it's very light rain. we'll zoom in a little bit. you can see light activity. the west side of 270 in montgomery county, out route 7 and 50. everything is light so some of the roads could be wet tomorrow, especially south and east of town as the showers sink a little farther south and east overnight. tomorrow, right now we're looking at showers south. tomorrow morning most of the showers kind of into southern maryland. maybe prince george's county and maybe into calvert county and also into st. mary's coun as well. we look at also some activity even into the evening hours down to the south. so clouds are going to be very hard to shake south and east of

in october. nice, nice stuff. all right, we'll take a look outside. this is our michael and son weather cam. a lot of clouds. 53. dew point is 40 and the winds are north, northeast at 8. that's one of the keys. the winds will continue to be north, northeast at 8. we'll have that air for a while. at least through tomorrow morning. satellite picture and the radar combined will zoom in. a lot of activity in terms of the heaviest rain fall is west of town along the i-81 corridor. and there are pockets. see a little magenta there and in parts of west virginia. a little bit of wet snow. certainly a chilly air mass across the eastern sea board. we have light activity south of town. we'll show you doppler radar and we can see activity down toward southern maryland. it moved across the bay. but by and large, the heaviest and most consistent rain fall will be hagerstown to winchester. if you are walking the dog, you need a coat. back to cumberland, there's some rain. martinsburg, west virginia, up into hagerstown, that's where the heaviest rain fall can be found. temperatures right now, 49 in laithen

. same in leesburg and also 46 for fort belvoir. outside on our michael & son weather camera, we see less moisture sitting on the cover of the camera. that's another sign that the rains have shut down and cloudy skies being reported at reagan national. 49 with a north wind at 8. feels more like 45 degrees out there. it is a raw morning. we've got this system on the east coast pulling away and this one in the plains heading toward us. you can see the twist right here in northern minnesota dragging a cold front across minnesota, iowa and wisconsin. that cold front gets here tomorrow afternoon. with it looks like most of the moisture is going to stay north of us but we do have a slight chance of a shower. in fact 8:00 still a slight chance of a shower east. we'll see the clouds lingering through midday some and then breaking up this afternoon. tonight we're looking at some fog possibly returning toward tomorrow morning. here comes the front tomorrow afternoon. slight chance of a shower northern sections with the front. it will just cool us down ath bit thursday and friday. today 60 degrees.
